One of his greatest strengths, since childhood, is listening.

About GVP:

Writer, composer, performer and international personality—a veritable mixture of French luxury, intercontinental exoticism, and authentic American consumerism. In addition to assaying world cultures on his travels, Greg has studied improv at the UCB Theater and The Peoples Improv Theater.

Von Portz’s specific aesthetic has propelled him toward myriad creative projects, including work  for Virgin Mobile, Burger King, MedPage Today and Novartis.

Recently, he wrote and published a romance novel-cookbook hybrid under a nom de plume, naturally.

A classically trained musician, his compositions for “She of the Voice” (PS 122), an adaptation of a short story by award-winning author Hari Hunzru were hailed by the Village Voice as “…catchy…”

His work with long-time collaborator Ashley Rebecca King produced several shows, including “In a Polynesian Mood.” (Time Out New York Critic Pick). The pair’s most recent show "Moon Pools" was featured in the Village Voice and New York Times. Their musical stylings have been called “…almost always too loud. Way too loud.”

Greg enjoys volunteering, traveling and walking around New York City for long distances. He has no tattoos or piercings.
